Our approach to bullying
At Lotus we believe that everyone should feel safe, we do NOT tolerate bullying of any kind. We don't want anybody to suffer in silence and have strict measures in place to deal with bullying incidents.
What is bullying?
Bullying can take on many forms, such as:
- Physical - hitting, pushing, spitting etc
- Verbal - name calling and threats
- Being left out - Not being asked to join in with activities or being left on your own
- Cyber bullying - bullying by social media, phone, messages or emails
- Property - damage or theft of your property and belongings
What to do if you are being bullied:
- TELL SOMEONE
- All bullying is wrong and nobody deserves to be treated like that
- Stay with your friends and people you trust
- Tell a staff member immediately - we are here to help
- Do not fight back as this makes it worse
Advice for parents:
- Talk to your children about their day and how they spent lunchtime etc
- If you think your child is being bullied, please contact school by phone or email so we can investigate and take action
- Talk to your child about our anti-bullying policy and tell them they can talk to any member of staff at any time
- We want your child to feel safe and happy and not miss out on their educational opportunities so please do get in touch
How we deal with bullying at Lotus is covered in detail in our anti-bullying guide, which can be viewed below.
